Mike Arone
Mike Arone
Mike Arone has been passionate about fitness, nutrition and comedy his whole life. He is a certified personal trainer from Boston, MA, who now lives in NYC. He has built his credibility upon the fact that he is a self-professed “gym rat” that has turned his passion for fitness into something more than just building muscle and shredding fat…he is making it funny and somewhat offensive (don’t be a pussy they are just jokes). Mike figured that if he could talk about protein and make you laugh in the same sentence, he has found his niche.

Growing up six miles west of Boston (one of the biggest sports cities in the country), he didn’t have much of a choice but to spend most of his childhood days playing every sport under the sun. Whether it was on the football field, the wrestling mat, ripping slap-shots off his neighbor’s bathroom windows with his older brothers or on stage at a local comedy club, he has always admitted that laughing his balls off was a major catalyst throughout his athletic career, as well as life in general.

When he began wrestling at the age of ten, it started to become evident that working out harder than everyone else wasn’t all there was to being fit. By the age of 13 he realized that strength, conditioning and resistance training would give him a competitive edge over his opponents, so he began to hit the gym. This is when he began to learn about not only proper training techniques, but nutrition and how significant that would be to his success on the mat. With these skills he proceeded to capture two Massachusetts All-State Titles and a New England Title in his high school career. He was chosen as an All-American Honorable Mention and granted the Dave Shultz Award, which is given to one high school wrestler from each state every year. Mike then went on to wrestle Division 1 at Sacred Heart University for four years under 2004 Greco-Roman Wrestling Olympic coach and 1980 Olympian, Andy Seras. In the off-seasons he honed further skills in his two years of training with 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist, Kendall Cross.

Besides hitting the mat and the gym, Mike acquired skills in boxing, Muay Thai and other mixed martial arts. He is also an avid runner who ran the 2006 Boston Marathon and plans to tackle the New York City Marathon next. His determination and dedication to keeping his body fit are impeccable…and if you offer him a slice of pizza he will slap you! Ok, not really…got carried away there. This site isn’t about depriving you of the things you love, but showing you how to implement them at the right times without sabotaging your success.

Mike understands that there are master nutritionists, PhDs in fitness of the highest caliber, bodybuilding coaches with decades of training professionals under their belt; all of which he has great respect for. He felt there was just one thing missing…the fitness world could use a dash of innocent and potentially offensive humor. There are tons of “experts” out there that will tell you that their method is the ONE…Mike isn’t going to tell you that…well maybe, but with less douchbaggery. Do his techniques work? Fuckin’-A right they do!…just check out his testimonial page.
